Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CraveMap mobile application ("the App") operated by Amjad Hussein ("I", "me", "my"), an individual developer based in Virginia, United States.

By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Using CraveMap

CraveMap is a free iOS application that helps you save restaurant recommendations from Instagram and view them on a map. You do not need to create an account to use the App.

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
  • You are responsible for the content you submit to the App (e.g., Instagram URLs you share).
  • You agree not to misuse the App — including using it to scrape data at scale, interfere with the service, or violate any laws.

2. What the App Does

When you share an Instagram post with CraveMap, the App processes the post using AI to extract restaurant information (name, location, cuisine, dish recommendations) and displays it on a map. This processing involves third-party AI and data services as described in the Privacy Policy.

The accuracy of the extracted information depends on the quality of the original Instagram post. I do my best to ensure accuracy, but I cannot guarantee that every extraction will be correct. Always verify restaurant details (hours, address, menu) independently before visiting.

3. Payments

CraveMap is currently free. If I introduce paid features in the future, any in-app purchases will be processed by Apple through the App Store. I do not directly collect or store any payment information. Apple's terms govern all transactions made through the App Store.

4. Content Ownership

  • Your content: The Instagram URLs and any data you provide remain yours. By sharing a URL with CraveMap, you grant me a limited license to process the publicly-available content at that URL in order to provide the App's functionality.
  • Instagram content: CraveMap processes publicly available Instagram posts. I do not claim ownership of any Instagram content. All Instagram content remains the property of its respective creators.
  • My content: The App itself — including its design, code, and branding — is my intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the App.

5. Service Availability

I provide CraveMap on an "as is" and "as available" basis. I do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond my control.

I reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. I will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

6. Cancellation and Data Deletion

You can stop using CraveMap at any time by deleting the App from your device. You can delete individual saved places within the App at any time.

If you want all your data deleted from my servers, email support@cravemap.app and I will remove it within 30 days. Database backups may retain traces for up to an additional 30 days.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the App;
  • Any inaccuracies in restaurant information extracted by the App;
  • Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data;
  • Any third-party conduct on the service;
  • Any other matter relating to the App.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Virginia.

10. Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. When I do, I will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
